Colon Cleansing Diet Tips

A colon cleansing diet is necessary to detoxify your body. Every time you eat, certain elements from the foods are sent to the digestive system to be eliminated. In most cases the entire waste exit the body but there are times when a little part of the waste remains in the walls of the colon.

The small amount of fecal matter accumulates in the colon until it starts giving problems. The toxins originated from the wastes eventually spread through whole body causing innumerable health issues.

You could start by increasing the amount of fiber in your diet. Fiber is very essential if you want to clean your colon. There are 2 types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Both types are necessary to keep your body from getting too much waste.

Fruits and vegetables are sources of fiber. Apples, carrots, potatoes, grapefruits, broccoli, bananas and lettuce contain a fair amount of fiber which helps greatly in the colon cleansing diet.

Other important things that you might need in your diet are water, enemas, and green tea.

Drinking plenty of water is a must if you want to clean your colon. You can drink about 8 glasses of 10 oz of water in a day to keep you hydrated. Enemas are another option for the situation. An enema consists in introducing a liquid into the colon through your anus. The liquid causes the lower part of the intestine to expand creating a sensation very similar to the one caused by a laxative.

The enemas are normally used for constipation.

Green tea is a must if you want to make sure your colon is in the best possible condition. Many studies have shown that drinking several cups a day of the tea can drastically reduce the chances of suffering from colon cancer and other intestinal problems.
