Salt Free
Foods - Healthy Options
Eating salt free foods is sometimes necessary when a person has blood
pressure problems. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition
where the blood pressure raises to a level that is a dangerous for a
person. The normal blood pressure commonly accepted is 120/80 mmHg;
many consistent readings above that level is considered high blood
pressure.
Someone with this condition can experience severe damage in many
organs. The illness does not appear immediately but it gradually
develops over the course of many years. It is said that one of the main
culprits of the condition is an unhealthy diet.
One element commonly found in foods but that could be dangerous for
someone with blood pressure problems is the the excess of salt. Even when salt is
very tasty, its overuse can worsen some diseases like renal failure and
other conditions associated with hypertension. In order to decrease the
chance of suffering complications with your blood pressure, salt free
foods can be consumed to start improving your health. Consuming food
with reduced in salt is not an easy task for many.
After years of
getting used to eat with too much salt, all food can
taste bland but fortunately for you there are alternative ways to make
your meals flavorful.

The first thing to do is to add
more fresh food to your diet. Many
fruits can be combined to create tasty plates that do not require
additional salt. Some vegetables can also be used to give your food a
delicious taste that you will not forget.
Onions, carrots, garlic and chilies are just some of the vegetables
that cannot only improve the flavor of your food but they are also
incredibly healthy.
You can sprinkle some salt free seasoning like ground black pepper over
the food and let it sit for some time. That will enhance the flavor
dramatically.
Other options
that can be used are vinegars.
Some types of vinegars can be used with lemons to help the food taste
better. You have to be careful not to use seasoned rice vinegars as
they can contain salt. Some herb vinegars like tarragon can give a salt
like taste to your meals. Other vinegars commonly used are cider,
champagne, sherry and balsamic. The last one has a sweeter taste than
the others but nonetheless is quite delicious and just right for many
recipes.
Squeezing some
lemon juice in your favorite dishes can add that salty
flavor without risking your health as well.
The salt free foods don't have to be boring, you just have to use your
imagination to spice them up.
