Feeling dizzy? You may have postural hypertension without knowing it   

The most important thing when thinking about postural hypertension is undoubtedly your health. With so many health concerns out there, its easy to focus solely on your weight, cancer, or diabetes.

Some of the more well known diseases out there dominate the headlines. This is why it is essential to take great care of yourself. However, there are smaller problems that you should be aware of as well. 

What exactly is it and what does it mean to you? 

Have you ever been sitting down relaxing on the couch and then you suddenly need to get up for something? When you stand up in a hurry, Man sitting in the sofaall of a sudden everything starts to feel strange. You begin to feel dizzy and maybe even a little nauseous. Your eyes start to go a little bit black and you feel like you need to sit down. What is going on? This is a case of postural hypertension. Almost everyone has experienced it at some point, while some experience it more than others. 


Postural High Blood Pressure Causes

Postural hypertension can be caused by a number of common conditions. Something as simple as dehydration can be the source of it. More serious factors like diabetes and certain medications can cause it as well. It is basically a stint of low blood pressure whenever you change body positions. Any of these causes can instigate low blood pressure. This means that you will need to watch out for a number of different conditions to prevent this.

It is not usually life threatening by itself, but it can throw everything into disarray. When you experience it, you will definitely feel dizziness and most likely nausea. However, it can also mess with your breathing systems and circulation as well. Usually it will return to normal, but when it happens, it can really throw you for a loop. 

Treating it

There is not an exact answer to treat every case of this type of hypertension. Unlike other forms of hypertension, there isn't a single method that you can use on the majority of the cases. Each doctor has to look at the cases individually. Since there are so many different causes, the doctor will have to figure out the root before a treatment is decided. There are a few prescriptions that doctors will prescribe in certain scenarios. They will also recommend getting up more carefully from a seated position. Low blood pressure can also be prevented by drinking a high volume of water as well. This is one of the simplest and yet most effective treatments available.

Overall, postural hypertension isn't one of the most life-threatening conditions out there, but it can also be an indicator of something bigger. Watch out for it and visit a doctor if you experience it often.
