Liver
Detoxification
Liver detoxification is a very important
process to
heal damage caused to the liver. The liver is a vital organ of the
human body and is responsible for many essential functions like
detoxification of the human body, regulation of glucose levels, storing
vitamins and minerals, creating bile, fighting infections and
more.
The
significance of this organ cannot be stretched enough. Sadly there are
many conditions that can damage the liver and decrease its ability to
eliminate the body’s toxins. Once the liver is damaged beyond a certain
point it won’t be able to filter any toxin which means a lot of health
problems will appear.
Portal hypertension is often
associated with some liver conditions. Alcohol abuse can easily lead to
problems in the liver. The different variations of the hepatitis virus
are also one of the main causes for problems with this organ. Keeping
your liver healthy will definitely improve the quality of your life.
There are several ways for liver detoxification that you can use. The
first step is to eliminate the cause of the problem. In case of
alcoholism, reducing or eliminating the intake completely will help a
lot. Avoid drinking water or eating food that might be
contaminated with the virus. Do not take any unnecessary medication as
most of them can harm the liver in some way.
Once
you have done all that you can to prevent the condition from
progressing you can apply the liver detoxification in a very effective
way. Drinking approximately 8 to 10 glasses of clean water daily can do
wonders for you. Cardiovascular exercise for 20 to 30 minutes a day can
help your body to get rid of impurities through your sweat.
Decreasing
the amount of processed foods in your meals is also necessary to
decrease the toxin levels in your body. The coffee enema is widely used
for detoxification. Once the natural caffeine is absorbed into the
enterohepatic system the toxins will be purged into the sigmoid colon
where they will be eliminated. This enema is not dangerous for people
that are sensitive to coffee as it remains in the sigmoid
colon.
Another
way to clean your system requires eating healthy food. There is method
that requires 3 days to clean the liver. You start by having a light
dinner like salad. Once you start this you cannot consume any caffeine,
processed food or alcohol for the next 3 days. The next day you eat a
breakfast consisting on many fruits like bananas, oranges, pineapples,
grapes, etc. That will provide you with essential nutrients like
Vitamin C and other antioxidants that can protect the liver from
further damage. Read more about the benefits of antioxidants
The
subsequent lunch and dinner can consist of more
fruit combined with vegetables. Broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts,
lettuce, cabbage and carrots are some of the preferred vegetables for
the detox. Other nutrients that can assist the detoxification are the
Vitamin B complex and Selenium.
