The Causes of Uncontrolled Hypertension

The causes of uncontrolled hypertension need to be reduced to have a an improved health state. Individuals who suffer from high blood pressure can reasonably control it with help from their doctor.

However, there are certain people who can not control their high blood pressure with medication. For those that can't seem to get their blood pressure under control, it can be a scary situation. It can be frustrating and life threatening if it goes unchecked for too long.

If you are one of the ones that suffer from uncontrolled blood pressure, there are a few key things that you should consider before giving up. One of the biggest things that affects blood pressure is weight. If you are extremely overweight, you should do everything that you can to start losing weight. Extra weight causes a lot of different health problems and hypertension is definitely one of them. Once you get the weight under control, some of the medicines might start to help again.

Another big problem in this area is smoking cigarettes. A lot of people smoke cigarettes and also have high blood pressure. If they would simply give up on the smoking, their blood pressure might improve. While this might sound easier than it actually is, if it is the difference between life and death, hopefully the right decision will be made.

Many people also have the proper medicine prescribed for their blood pressure, but they simply forget to take it. They think that they're taking as much as they should, but in reality, they're not. If you miss a dose or two, it could have a negative affect on your blood pressure. As a result, they think that they have uncontrollable blood pressure, but if they would simply stick to the routine all the time it would work.

If you have tried all of these things, it is usually best to meet with your doctor and discuss your options. Sometimes, it will be determined that you're not taking enough medicine. Many people take three different medicines in order to curtail their high blood pressure. If you're not taking all of them, they might prescribe others. In addition to that, they might increase your dosage. Both of these things could be effective in reducing your high blood pressure.

Once you've tried all of these steps, there might be other causes of uncontrolled hypertension. If you fix the underlying condition, you won't have to worry about high blood pressure anymore. For example, you could suffer from sleep apnea and as a result you have high blood pressure. You might have a problem with the aorta that could be corrected. When you get to the bottom of these conditions, your blood pressure problem might be a thing of the past.

The important thing to know is that there are still options out there. Just because you think your blood pressure is uncontrollable doesn't mean you can't eventually figure out the problem. Just keep trying and you will eventually discover something that will help in eliminating the causes of uncontrolled hypertension.
