What is the 3 Day Diet


The 3 day diet is a very popular diet frequently used to lose weight. The main purpose of the diet is to lose weight very fast. Other benefits that can result are the lowering bad cholesterol levels which can lead to lower blood pressure and a sudden increase of energy.

As the name indicates a person must strictly follow the plan for 3 days in order to be effective. The following 4 days normal meals can be eaten and then the next days the plan should be followed again.

During those next 4 days is important to not overeat otherwise it can jeopardize the plan. Keeping a constant calorie intake is necessary for the diet to work well.

This 3 day diet does not require using any kind of medication. The consumption of certain foods will allow the metabolism to increase in order to burn fat at a faster rate. One of the things that make this diet so popular is the fact that it allows to lose 10 pounds in 3 days. The overall result is eliminating 40 pounds in one month. Losing the 10 pounds in 3 days is no small task so is essential to follow the plan to the smallest detail. 

Eating the correct portions during the 3 days is a must. Eating more or less than the recommended amount can affect the outcome of the diet and reduce its effectiveness. You can eat the same 3 meals everyday but to prevent some boredom certain variations are allowed.

The plan consists of eating 3 meals every day and it requires no exercise:

First Day

For breakfast the recommendation is black coffee or tea, 1 slice of toast with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and half grapefruit. The half grapefruit can be substituted for juice if desired.

The lunch can include one slice of toast with ½ cup of tuna and black coffee or tea. Dinner can consist of 1 apple, 1 cup of carrots, 3 ounces of chicken or any other lean meat, 1 cup of green beans and 1 cup of low fat natural vanilla ice cream.

Second Day

You can begin your day with black coffee or tea, half a banana, 1 slice of toast. 

The lunch can consist of 8 normal crackers and 1 cup of tuna. Once again the dinner will have ½ a banana, ½ cup of low fat vanilla ice cream, ½ cup of carrots, 1 cup of broccoli or cabbage and 2 hot dogs (of chicken). 





Third Day

The third day of the 3 day diet can start with an apple, 5 normal crackers, 1oz of natural low fat cheddar cheese and black coffee or tea. The lunch of the third day can include 1 slice of toast and black coffee or tea. The dinner will have 1 cup of melon, 1 cup of carrots, 1 cup of tuna, 1 cup of cauliflower and half cup of low fat natural vanilla ice cream. In addition to that anyone making the diet can drink 4 cups of water or non caloric drinks every day. 

The eating plan is a choice for when people need to lose some serious weight fast and is not recommended to use it for a long term. There is a chance of experiencing some dizziness or weakness by following the 3 day diet so being very careful is fundamental.
